Pre-College Initiative

The Pre-College Initiative (PCI) program is designed to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The goal is to encourage students in grades K–12 to attend college and pursue technical degrees. Our PCI program provides activities to help students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork. We implement the PCI program locally through support of the Memphis NSBE Jr Academy.

NSBE Jr
NSBE Jr is the formal membership category for NSBE’s pre-college students. NSBE Jr membership is available to all students in grades 6-12. Annual membership dues are $30 which includes national and local chapter registration for the Memphis NSBE Jr Academy. Memphis NSBE Jr members meet once a month to explore engineering topics and careers, engage in hands-on science activities, and network with professional role models. Members also have the opportunity to participate in Try-Math-alon, Ten80 Racing, or FIRST Lego League competition teams.
