2017 Walk For Education

At the 2017 A Walk For Education, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Memphis Professionals Chapter continued the goal of NSBE to graduate 10,000 minority students in STEM by 2025. Together with chapter members, collegiate chapter members, community leaders, college recruiters, and other outstanding STEM organizations, we sought out to inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians. High school and middle school kids from various schools, STEM programs, local churches, and other organizations came out to enjoy hands-on engineering activities while networking with attending college recruiters and left with a great word from John Jackson, a Memphis native who has made his way to become VP of Strategy, Planning, Engineering, Innovation & Customer Identity at FedEx Tech Connect. There’s nothing like putting smiles on the faces of youth while teaching them that with hard work they too can succeed in whatever field they choose to pursue. #TheFuture #NSBE #Memphis #AWFEMemphis2017
